Having joined Coventry Cyrenians in 1985 I am very proud of the progress we have made in the delivery of quality services to people in the most acute housing need.
Since opening our first nightshelter in 1973 we have helped many thousands of Coventry people to overcome what must be one of the most traumatic experiences any of us could face.
As the oldest and most established charity in the area dedicated to working with homeless people we are proud of our record. It has made us an organisation that is highly valued by the people who need our services, the partner agencies with which we work and our staff.
Homeless people are not always uppermost in people's minds when deciding upon social priorities and Coventry Cyrenians will strive to ensure that some of the most socially excluded people in our community continue to receive what we believe to be one of the most basic human rights.
Coventry Cyrenians is a registered charity established in 1973 and is a leading provider of services to people who are homeless or whose accommodation may be at risk.
Michael Fowler 2009
Coventry Cyrenians will provide a comprehensive range of high quality services to enable any person who is homeless, or person whose accommodation may be at risk, to improve their quality of life and to empower them to live as independently as possible
The traditional view of homelessness has tended to focus on negative stereotypes. At Coventry Cyrenians we prefer to view our role as helping people to rebuild their lives.
