COVENTRY HALF MARATHON MARCH 2014

The Coventry Half Marathon took place on Sunday 23rd March 2014. Many thanks to all the runners who braved the cold damp weather, and all those who sponsored them to raise money for Cyrenians. Our stall was held outside the Coventry Transport Museum and we were delighted that the Lord Mayor, Councillor Gary Crookes and his wife, Lady Mayoress Shirley Crookes made time to stop and talk to our volunteers and staff. WINDSOR'S AND REFRESHED FIRST ANNIVERSARY

On Saturday 30th November, we celebrated the first anniversary of our social enterprise, Windsor's and Refreshed. Based on Far Gosford Street in Coventry, the project comprises a coffee shop and retail outlet and offers work experience and volunteering opportunities to young people who are homeless and/or unemployed. read more...

CYRENIANS SERVICES FROM 1ST APRIL 2014

In December 2013 we learned that a consortium of existing providers, which included Cyrenians, had been unsuccessful in a competitive tendering process for a Local Authority contract incorporating all of the adult homelessness services in Coventry. The successful bidder was the Salvation Army and the new contract commenced on 1st April 2014. read more...

CYRENIANS CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH FOR THE HOMELESS

Christmas day 2013 began with a flurry of activity, with volunteers arriving bright and early to begin setting up tables, entertainment and food preparation and getting ready to 'meet & greet'. As in previous years the Central Methodist Hall provided the venue as well as the trimmings for Christmas lunch, a special thanks to Minister Paul Wood for his continued support. read more...
