We provide supported accommodation for a maximum of 62 residents in 15 different properties, covering single men and women of all ages, gender and ethnicity and each being furnished to a high standard. Occupation is for a maximum of 12 months, during which time residents will have a dedicated support worker to help them achieve a greater degree of independence. All of the properties are regularly serviced by full time maintenance and domestic staff and there is a 24 hour, 7 days a week on call service. Five of the properties are owned by Coventry Cyrenians with the rest being rented from housing associations, private landlords and the City Council.
We also offer a low level support service for a further 16 residents who have low support needs and only require a minimal amount of support to help them to acquire the skills to live as independently possible when they eventually move on from the service.
We provide floating support to a maximum of 95 men and women of all ages, gender and ethnicity. Floating support involves dedicated support workers helping clients to maintain their accommodation by dealing with a broad range of issues :
Our Young Person’s Direct Access hostel is based in Holyhead Road, a short distance from Coventry City centre and provides emergency short stay accommodation for 16-24 year olds who have been made homeless. The hostel is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and offers advice and support to residents who can stay for a maximum of 2 months. All residents have a designated project worker who will work intensively with the client and deal with such issues as :
Many of the hostel’s residents will transfer to our Supported Accommodation service where the process can begin in earnest of preparing the client for independent living.
This new service was commissioned by the Coventry City Council Supporting People team on 1st October 2009 with the objective of achieving a “sustained reduction in the numbers of those found to be sleeping rough in the city” (SP tender specification).
We provide an outreach-based contact service with rough sleepers by making regular city centre sweeps using intelligence on rough sleeping hotspots gathered from our own experience and that of other agencies including the police and CV One. The sweeps take place from 6.00-9.00 am Monday to Friday and are complemented by an out of hours emergency contact via a well publicised helpline.
The service deals with up to 20 rough sleepers at any time with the objective of directing them into the appropriate support services within seven working days. Continued support is provided to ensure clients make the most effective use of the housing related support available within the city. The ultimate aim is to introduce clients to the option of independent living including support to establish and maintain a tenancy.
Nuneaton and Stratford Projects
In early 2010 we secured our first Supporting People contracts from Warwickshire County Council in partnership with Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and Stratford-on-Avon District Council

In addition resettlement support is available for up to 12 weeks for clients needing help to settle into their new homes.
Stratford Upon Avon Single Homeless Accommodation Project (SASHA)
We provide accommodation and support for 8 single homeless men and women aged 18 and above in three adjoining shared houses in Stratford. The intended length of stay is up to 2 years with the aim of working with the client so they are enabled to live independently in their own accommodation. Each of the properties has a shared kitchen and is self catering. Clients moving on from the project into their new home will also be offered a resettlement service for up to 10 weeks.
This is a new service commissioned by Supporting People and Stratford Upon Avon Town Trust for single people in Stratford Upon Avon Town who are rough sleeping and are of not fixed abode e.g. sofa surfing who need help with securing their own accommodation. The service can support 8 people for up to 6 months.
