A Subway® store had a grand re-opening in Coventry on 31st May 2017 and Coventry Cyrenians were invited to cut the ribbon. The new store is located at The West Orchards shopping centre. On the day of opening, Subway® were offering customers a free six-inch subway with every purchase of a large drink, a portion of these takings were donated to our cause, which totalled a fantastic £524.58.

In addition, Subway® made two large platters of subs, alongside various breakfast foods to hand out to our homeless clients. They are looking to continue this delivery of food on a monthly basis, which we will continue to hand out.

New owner Kamaljeet Khaira commented: “I’m very excited to be re-opening the Subway®store in Coventry. It is ideally placed in a dynamic shopping area and will give busy shoppers a lighter lunchtime option. To honour the previous owner Daljit, we will be donating part of the days  proceedings from the Grand Re-Opening Sale to local homeless charity, Coventry Cyrenians. We will also be providing Subs on an on-going basis to the Charity to distribute amongst its service users”

Jack Swinburn, Fundraising and Partnerships Manager at Coventry Cyrenians “We were delighted to be invited by Subway® to celebrate the re-opening of the West Orchards store. We’d like to thank them for their generous donation from opening day proceeds, and we look forward to a continued partnership, which includes a monthly delivery of Subway® food to our homeless clients. I wish Kamaljeet and her new store team every success with their venture into Coventry”.
