CYRENIANS CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH FOR THE HOMELESS

Christmas day 2013 began with a flurry of activity, with volunteers arriving bright and early to begin setting up tables, entertainment and food preparation and getting ready to ‘meet & greet’. As in previous years the Central Methodist Hall provided the venue as well as the trimmings for Christmas lunch, a special thanks to Minister Paul Wood for his continued support.

There were approximately 150 ‘3 course meals’ served and presents given out on the day, which was run by over 50 volunteers and we would like to extend a huge thank you to them all. Volunteers Michael Wilson co-ordinated the day, Thomas Scarsbrook provided the music and photos were taken by Gary Jenkinson.

Feedback received from guests when asked what the best part of the day was for them:

“Seeing the smiles on people’s faces”

“The best part was the talks with the volunteers who kindly gave up their time and created a good atmosphere!”
