We recently completed some gardening projects at two of our hostels for the homeless.  The first one was at St Michaels Road, Coventry.  Work was carried out by our Maintenance Team, Dave Hickling, Tom Jeffery and Rik Read.

We had the tree removed, rubble removed, the garden levelled, and a new fence erected. A bird table was installed on the remaining trunk. 

Fenced and gated side entry to property, Decking and raised beds installed, 4 x Fruit trees planted 2 x Pear, 1x Plum, 1x Cherry. Broad Beans, Cabbage, Thyme and Rosemary planted double raised bed, Bark chippings installed for weed control, removed all weeds and cleared garden areas.

After a lot of hard work, the garden has been greatly improved and ready for residents to enjoy growing and eating their own vegetables.

They also planted an Apple Tree with a stoned weed barrier at our hostel in Holyhead Road.
