Serco is a FTSE 250 international service company that improves the quality and efficiency of essential services that matter to millions of people around the world. The work we do for national and local governments involves us in the most important areas of public service, including health, education, transport, science and defence.

At the end of August 2014 Serco’s management of the Colnbrook Immigration Removal Centre near Heathrow airport ended.  The contract was handed over to Mitie Care and Custody.  As part of the exit process the Transformation team, led by Katherine Helalat, ensured that as much as possible was recycled during the renovation of the centre prior to handover.

A key part of the exit was the collection of the old Serco uniforms from the staff.  To ensure that the old uniforms are put to good use they were collected and donated to Coventry Cyrenians charity.  The Serco branding will be removed and the clothing will be redistributed to the homeless and communities that the charity works with.
