25th January 2018

Our volunteer of the month for December 2017 was Graham Cole.

Graham has volunteered for Cyrenians for several years.  He has given up his Christmas Day to volunteer at our annual event held at the Methodist Central Hall for over 11 years, serving refreshments and dinners to the homeless.   For the past year, Graham has also volunteered as a fundraiser by organising collection tins with customers at his local pub, The Burnt Post.  He regularly drops the full tins off at our Head Office, so far raising a fantastic £752.94p for Cyrenians!!!!

Graham Cole Vol of the month

Graham loves taking his faithful companion Timmy the dog for walks and often gets chatting to other people telling them about all the good work that Cyrenians do, which has occasionally resulted in an extra donation for the collection tin.

It’s true to say Graham Cole is a merry old sole and a very caring and friendly person, who has shown real commitment and enthusiasm to help our charity. We are very grateful for his efforts and to show our appreciation we have awarded him with a certificate and voucher (which he is going to spend on some dog treats for Timmy!) WELL DONE & THANK YOU!

"I have always wanted to do volunteering and help homeless & vulnerable people, the customers at the pub are really good at giving money and I enjoy doing it" Graham Cole.
