21st August 2017

Congratulations go to Pav Sohal, our Volunteer of the Month for July 2017, who has received a certificate and gift voucher for all her hard work.

Pav has been volunteering with us since January 2017, originally one day a week to fit around her studies, but recently increased to two days to help us out as another volunteer successfully gained paid employment.  Pav completed her minimum 75 hours needed for her course and chose to carry on volunteering as she really enjoyed it.

Based at our Head Office, Volunteering as a Service Support Assistant includes admin work, answering the telephone, meeting and greeting homeless clients and members of the public.  Pav provides a high quality service, is always punctual, enthusiastic and a much valued member of the team.

“Whilst volunteering at Cyrenians, every day is a new experience.  It helped me gain awareness of how a highly stimulating work environment functions whilst gaining maximum employability skills. I aimed to incorporate my psychology degree with admin duties to get experience to later work in HR, and thanks to Cyrenians I have now taken that one step up the ladder. Volunteering at Cyrenians has been very rewarding and I would like to specially thank all the staff for being their friendly self’s and always being there to train and guide me without hesitation. Through this whole voluntary experience, I am now more motivated to see what my future holds” Pavandeep Sohal.
